Let the mosquitoes buzz somewhere far away from you

It is the hottest time in India and we have to be more careful because of malarial mosquitoes. They are vectors and can be very harmful to humans.

But still, we all want to enjoy the summer days and evenings without the fear of being bitten.

I want to share the remedies and methods we use in India.

Did you know that many essential oils repel insects? They either mask the odors that attract them or block receptors in their sense of smell, which encourages mosquitoes to look elsewhere for food.

Recipe for a spray with a citrus-wood-mint combination of Essential Oils to ward off mosquitoes.

▫️100 ml of distilled water

▫️1 tbsp. of pure alcohol

▫️15 drop of eucalyptus Essential Oil

▫️10 drops Essential Oil citronella or lemon eucalyptus

▫️5 drops of peppermint or spearmint Essential Oil

▫️10 drops of Essential Oil (EO) of cedar-wood

Put all the ingredients in a spray bottle and enjoy your summer and let the mosquitoes buzz somewhere far away from you.

Recipe for a mosquito diffuser:

▫️5 drops EO citronella or lemon eucalyptus

▫️5 drops of tea tree EO

▫️5 drops EO lavender or lavandin EO

▫️5 drops EO rosemary oil

▫️3 drops EO lemongrass.

20-30 minutes of operation of the diffuser is enough to clean the room from unwelcome buzzing guests.

Recipe for mosquito repellent blend.

I often use it in the evening before going outdoors. I just apply it on exposed skin areas – ankles and arms. It’s strong enough to deal with a whole squad of mosquitoes. If you find it too strong, please add a little more coconut oil.

▫️8 tablespoons of coconut oil

▫️5 drops of lemongrass EO.

▫️5 drops of lemon eucalyptus EO.

▫️5 drops of peppermint oil EO.

▫️5 drops of cedarwood EO.

!! Please be careful –  not to apply it to sensitive parts of the body: eyes, armpits or intimate areas.

‼️ I also always recommend a patch test.

These same recipes can also be used against any other small insect bites, like flies and bees.

Please, share in the comments what Essential Oils (EO) you use to repel mosquitoes.
